Appalachia Service Project (ASP) Form and Dates

St. Mark’s is proud to be planning our sixth annual Appalachia Service Project trip. The dates for that will be July 13 – July 20, 2019. ASP is open to adults and youth entering 9th grade or up in the fall of 2019. Work groups are a minimum of six, with at least two adults per group. Adults are always in need and most welcome.

ASP is a wonderful service opportunity, bringing thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Central Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. After a few days of hard work repairing homes, your hands will grow a little tougher, your arms a little stronger. You’ll return home to your community with a passion for service, a renewed compassion for other people, and a fresh appreciation for your place and purpose in this world. Best of all, you’ll discover first-hand that regardless of geography, education, or economic class, we all all equal members of the family of God.

The cost is $350 per person, and participation in the fundraisers will pare this amount down. Important dates:

February 1: $50 deposit due

February 20: $200 due

May 20: remaining balance due

Please click here to print out an application form. You can drop it off to the front desk, or put in the ASP mailbox outside the office. Applications will also be on the table outside of the library. Questions? Please contact Cindy Glavin, ASP Coordinator at cjglavin92@yahoo.com.
