Guidelines for In-Person Worship

A small group of 20 gathered at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, September 27 at 8:00 am for the first in-person worship service since March. Look for more information about another in-person worship service on Sunday, October 11 at 8:00 am coming soon!

Online worship also continues with Holy Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 am in English and 1:00 pm in Spanish via Zoom.

In the meantime, here is a list of guidelines to keep everyone safe as we worship in person.

  • Enter and exit the sanctuary through the Main Street double doors.
  • Use hand sanitizer when you enter the narthex, which is available from the touch-free hand sanitizer dispenser.
  • Wear your face mask at all times. You may remove your mask for the moment of consuming the Communion bread and wine.
  • Maintain a distance of six feet from others unless they are members of your family.
  • At the exchange of the Peace, wave or bow as a contactless gesture of peace to others near you.
  • The offering plate will not be passed in the pews. If you wish, place your contribution in the offering plate in the narthex.
  • If you would like to receive communion, please maintain a distance of six feet from others as you approach the altar rail and return to your pew.
  • Restrooms are available in the hallway to Mahon Hall.
  • Please offer feedback and suggestions by contacting Joanie Somerville, chair of the Reopening Committee or Rev. George D. Smith III.
