Summer
is a great time to continue to “grow in faith” at St. Mark’s.
We are offering two series of adult formation. Beginning on
Sunday, June 12th, you are invited to participate in “Living
the Questions” – a combination video and discussion
that features conversations with over 30 leading theologians
and church leaders.

June 20 - Lives of Jesus
June 27 - St. Paul
July 4 - Evil, Suffering and a God of Love
July 11 - Debunking the Rapture
On Sunday, July 18th, parishioners Chad Alcorn and Seth Allison
and colleague David Hendricks begin a six part series called,
“All-In-The-Family: Finding Faith and Connections During
Hard Times.” This series has something for everyone:
July 18 - Teenage Wasteland: How Celebrity Narcissism
and Information Technology is Tempting Adolescents
- Chad Alcorn examines the new world of information technology
and how teens are biologically and psychologically predisposed
to desire what celebrity promises.
July
25 - Gimme Shelter: A Closer Look at Love and What Keeps
Us Together -With a shift towards the marriage, Seth
Allison introduces emotion focused marriage and how attachments
manifest in this complicated relationship dance.
Aug
1 - Crazy Love: Exploring the Covenant Between Parents
and Their Children - Seth examines the provisional
parent-child relationship including attuning to the child’s
needs while also providing structure.

8 - Don’t Forget to Breathe: Self Soothing and Self-Regulation
for Children and Adolescents - David Hendricks offers
practical strategies for children and teens to identify and
regulate feelings with the goal of preventing dangerous self-medicating.

15 - Don’t Forget to Breathe II: Parenting from the
Inside Out - David continues self regulation topic
but with a shift towards mindfulness and parenting.

22 - All-In-The-Family Open Forum - The final
“open forum” includes all presenters as we answer questions
and dialogue about family related issues. (Dr. Chad Alcorn,
Seth Allison, MA LCPC, David Hendricks, MA).
