Baptism

AT ST. MARK’S, WE ARE “ROOTED IN BAPTISM.”

In baptism, what we claim is something utterly profound: that you are marked as Christ’s own forever. Regardless of who you are or what you do in life, we believe you can never be separated from the love of God known in Christ. In a world filled with conditional love, baptism is a radical departure into the unconditional love of God.

Baptism is available for both infants and adults. You don’t need to have God or faith figured out to be baptized. Babies have their parents, sponsors and godparents make promises on their behalf. Adults prepare for baptism through a process that includes study, prayer and service. The Baptismal Covenant outlines the affirmations and promises of the Christian life and faith, which is at the very center of the baptism service.

If you would like to know more about baptism for yourself or your child, please contact the church office at 630-858-1020. We also request that you fill out a Baptism Information Form and turn it in to the office.
