May Is Mental Health Awareness Month

Glen Ellyn Youth & Family Counseling Service ( provides professional counseling to local area youth and families. We offer individual counseling to youth and adults, family counseling, couples counseling, and school consultation.
Our goal is to make mental health services more widely accessible for everyone, regardless of economic status:

  • No insurance is required.
  • GEYFCS offers a sliding fee scale.
  • No one is ever denied counseling because of an inability to pay.
  • Telehealth is available.
  • There’s no wait list for families in crisis.

GEYFCS is located in the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, 535 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn. We are part of the Glen Ellyn Mental Health Task Force and work closely with the Village of Glen Ellyn, the DuPage County Health Department, NAMI, Glen Ellyn schools, Glenbard Parent Series, Bridge Communities, and other service providers to help prevent suicides and to help people get the mental health services they need. For more information, contact Deanna Filkins, (630) 469-3040.

More information can be found on our website at and on our Facebook page.

What you can do to promote mental health:

  • Help stop the stigma! Mental Healthcare is healthcare.
  • Remember, in an emergency, call 911 or the DuPage Crisis Hotline (630) 627-1700.
